Construction environment | Wide temperature availability, laminates can be applied in all seasons around the year, but under no circumstances should the laminates be applied in wet conditions or on wet substrates. It might require the substrates surface temperature must be 3ºC above dew point and relative humidity below 85%.
Substrates surface preparation | Surface preparation can vary from dry and clean to grit blasted to SA2.5, depending on the application. Some applications may also require priming.
Usage method | 1. Laminates appear as pale yellow soft membrane adhesive tape in uncured states and can be cut and tailor into any shape according to the engineering requirements. 2. Before applying the laminate, the bottom film is removed to reveal a tacky type surface and pasted, winded or wrapped in the substrates which protection required directly or as a wet on wet application where prime has been recommended. Pressing or rolling tightly is strongly recommended to increase the bonding and densification between laminates and substrates. To apply tension and reduce shift, the use of transparent adhesive tape is also required. 3. Full exposure to strong UV radiation will see the laminates cure literally in minutes, while in hours under controlled exposure. In areas where applications are exposed to excessive natural sunlight, steps should be taken to shield the application area, which will help to prolong the working life of the laminates. UV lamp should be used to cure the laminates in area where no natural sunlight is available. 4. Please refer to UV curing FRP laminates usage guide for details. |
